{"id":1707,"date":"2019-04-17T15:55:34","date_gmt":"2019-04-17T13:55:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.casalerosennano.it\/val-dorcia\/"},"modified":"2019-04-22T15:22:47","modified_gmt":"2019-04-22T13:22:47","slug":"val-dorcia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.casalerosennano.it\/en\/val-dorcia\/","title":{"rendered":"Val d&#8217;Orcia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Val D\u2019Orcia is a broad valley located around Mount Amiata, next to Umbria.<\/p>\n<p>The name is provided by the river Orcia and it is well-known for Pienza and Montalcino.<\/p>\n<p>During the ancient times the landscape was transformed for farming purposes and the cypress trees were planted to provide shade to protect the poor water sources.<\/p>\n<p>The presence of the Via Francigena brought the presence of towns that are well known historical jewels even today: Castiglione D\u2019Orcia, Pienza, Radicofano, San Quirico d\u2019Orcia.
