Dome of Siena and Museum

The Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta is the main catholic building of Siena and it is one of the most significant examples of Romanic-Gothic style in Italy.

Inside the ticket office at the side of the duomo you can require cumulative tickets for the entire museum heritage of Siena.

The access to the cathedral is provided through a free entry ticket that is just for entrance. Our tip is indeed not to miss the splendid Pinacoteca Piccolomini inside the Cathedral and have a look to the other artistic masterpieces of Siena like: the Museo del Comune, Torre del Mangia and Museo del Duomo where you will find the famous masterpieces by Duccio di Buoninsegna (la Maestà and the glass windown), the sculptures by Giovanni Pisano, Donatello and Jacopo della Quercia, the  precious fabrics and ancient golden pieces so as the ancient miniatures books.
